It is a controversial topic that is drawing the attention of people all over the nation, Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day.

The company's CEF spoke out against gay marriage, sparking a media firestorm.

In response, Fox News Contributor Mike Huckabee organized an event that would rally support for Chick-Fil-A.

"That's what's wrong now, good people that know the truth don't stand up for it. The truth is God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve," said Chick-Fil-A supporter Karen Clark.

Thousands of Central Texas including Karen Clark and her husband, made their way out to support Chick-Fil-A Wednesday.

"We're from Humble and we drove up here to support the cause here, we think it's a real good Christian support for Chick-Fil-A and we're just really excited to be here," said Chick-Fil-A supporter Jenean Kasper.

From Houston to Waco, people put their money where their mouth is, buying Chick-Fil-A products to support its stance on traditional marriage.

But some came out just to support free speech.

"In this day in age it's so rare that a company actually stands up for what they believe in," said Chick-Fil-A supporter Nate Outland.

Supporters of same-sex marriage also made their voices heard protesting against the restaurant.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, known as GLAAD, has turned the issue into a catalyst for change.

They're now asking people to donate in response.

"I can see how somebody could get offended over it, but I mean if you really think about it I mean they're just people have their own beliefs," said Chick-Fil-A supporter Bob Beckworth.

"Marriage was set up by god and who are we to change the mind of god we can not,"

GLAAD is backing a "National Same-Sex Kissing Day" to be held at Chick -Fil-A restaurants nationwide on Friday.

They're encouraging participants to post pictures of themselves kissing online.
