Irving, TX – Senior middle hitter Torri Campbell was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Volleyball Team for the second straight season, conference officials announced Tuesday.

Campbell, a native of Amarillo, Texas, earned the yearly distinction for the third time as a member of this year's 15-player list. Eight of the nine Big 12 teams were represented with at least one honoree, while Texas' Bailey Webster was named Preseason Player of the Year and Molly McCage was named Preseason Freshman of the Year.

Last season, Campbell ranked second on the team with 2.74 kills per set and a hitting percentage of .289 with 326 total kills, while leading the team in blocking with 108.0 total blocks for an average of 0.91 per set.

In addition, Campbell was named to the all-tournament team at both the Lamar MCM Elegante' Invitational and the Purdue Mortar Board Premier in early season non-conference play.

Campbell enters her final year after helping lead the Bears to NCAA berths in two of her three seasons. Last season, she led Baylor to an 18-15 overall record that included a 5-11 league mark and a trip to Stanford, Calif., for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Baylor will open the season at home in the Fairfield Inn North Baylor Classic on Aug. 24-25 at the Ferrell Center. The Bears will face Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m., then take on Nevada at 12:30 p.m. and Tulane at 7 p.m. on Aug. 25.
