(KCEN) -- A 16-month-old girl was found living in an animal cage near Houston.
On August 7 sheriff's deputies went to check on a home in the 100 block of County Road 2802.
They had received calls about possible animal cruelty, but what they found inside was a baby girl living in filthy conditions.
There apparently were roaches crawling around the baby and she had been living in an animal cage.
One horse was found dead on the property, along side several other emaciated horses, dogs and cats.
The baby's mother, Mable Larson, was taken into custody and charged with animal cruelty.
Deputies are still looking for the girl's father, Aaron Parker, for questioning.
More charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
