Update: FAA Investigating Fatal Plane Crash in Llano

(KCEN) Updated August 26 3:00 PM --  The two men who died in the Llano plane crash yesterday have been identified.

The men have been identified as flight instructor Scott Belt and student 51-year-old Bobby Luker, Jr.

The plane went down around 3:00 Saturday afternoon  near the Hunger Ranch.

The pair were in contact with the Llano Airport tower and were completing touch-and-go exercises.

When investigators arrived the aircraft was so mangled they could only identify it as a single engine plane with two seats.

Instructor Scott Belt had 30 years of flying experience according to his website.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Two people are dead after a plane crash in Llano.

It happened around 3 PM today in Llano County.      

The FAA will be on the scene, along with the National Transportation Safety Board, to investigate.

The plane went down off of Ranch Road 2241, near the Hunger Ranch.

Investigators say the plane was so mangled that it was impossible to confirm what type of plane it was.
