(KCEN) -- It's a mission to help feed starving children in 3rd-world countries and Baylor athletes are behind the push.
Nearly 500 student athletes, coaches and staff prepared 100,000 meal kits at the Ferrell Center on August 27.
And Baylor is footing the bill at 22 cents per meal.
That comes out to about $22,000.
It's all for the Feed My Starving Children Foundation, which fights hunger worldwide.
Lady Bears Forward Brittney Griner said, "It feels great just knowing that I'm helping a family in a country that isn't able to have the things that I have. It's just humbling being able to give back. "
UT, Texas A&M and four other church sites will also put together meal kits for starving kids this year.
