(KCEN) -- U.S. soldiers may be called upon to protect other U.S. embassies across the globe, according to a senior military source.
This comes after the American ambassador to Libya was killed.
Most of those soldiers are already deployed and it would not result in new deployments from the U.S.
That source also confirmed the Pentagon is involved in the discussions on how to step up diplomatic security around the world, even saying it could involve troop, aircraft, or ship movement if needed.
