(KCEN) -- A Dallas-area police officer is under investigation after a police chase that ended with the shooting death of a suspect last month.
Officer Patrick Tuter fired at suspect Michael Allen 41 times.
And Garland police say there is no evidence that Allen even tried to assault the officer or return fire.
Tuter has been placed on restricted duty and his service-issued weapons have been confiscated.
That chase ended in Mesquite, where police are conducting a criminal investigation of Tuter's actions.
The results of that investigation will be turned over to the District Attorney, then may go to a grand jury, where charges could be filed.
