(KCEN) -- One person was killed when a plane crashed in an east Texas neighborhood yesterday afternoon.

The plane nose dived and slammed into a road outside of Tyler around 3 p.m.

Debris was found scattered for miles around the crash site, but two nearby homes were not damaged.

There's still no word on what caused the crash.

And police have not identified the person who died when it went down.
