(KCEN) -- Fewer young drivers are getting a whiff of that new car smell.
New cars bought by 18 to 34 year olds have dropped 30 percent over the last five years.
Car shopping web site Edmunds.com says there could be many reasons for the decline in sales.
One, young adults are facing high levels of unemployment.
Also, young people may opt for a used car or borrow mom and dad's keys until the job market turns around.
And it could be because of urban lifestyles.
Taking a bus or subway is sometimes easier than driving a car in some areas.
