(KCEN) -- Top U.S. security officials are now calling the killings at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last week a terrorist attack.
But what remains under debate is whether that attack was planned or spontaneous.
At a Homeland Security hearing today in Washington D.C., U.S. senators called what happened at the consulate appalling and expressed doubt the attack was anything but a planned event.
Three of the top U.S. security officials say the attack is evidence the U.S. continues to be vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
