Cameron Police Department Attacking Problem of Exploitation of Minors

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The Cameron Police Department is making it its mission to crack down on the exploitation of minors.

This comes after the arrest of five men accused of using the web to attempt to have sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

It's almost like a scene out of "To Catch a Predator."

Cameron police set up a sting.

The men thought they were meeting up with the girl, but instead found police and handcuffs.

With these arrests, Cameron police want to continue their efforts to keep children safe across town and online.

Cameron Police Department Chief Randy Dixon said, "There's the possibility that we may be working with some other authorities, whether the counties, state or federal to pursue this even greater."

Although the Cameron Police Department feel the sting was successful, they aren't happy this happens at all.
