Last of Houston Sextuplets Goes Home

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The last of the so-called Houston 6 pack was able to finally go home on Tuesday.

Little Leah Perkins has been at the Texas Children's Hospital since her mother gave birth to sextuplets in May.

She went through a couple of major surgeries for intestinal issues and still needs some tube feeding.

But she was given the all-clear from doctors and a ticket to go home.

Her father Dave Perkins said, "We're truly humbled that we are bringing home six. We know it could been a completely different path but we're very grateful."

The children's mother Lauren Perkins said, "It makes me a little nervous but we're mostly excited just to not have to split time between the hospital and home and just having everyone together."

Born premature at 30 weeks, all of the sextuplets were under three pounds.

But now all of them are at home and in the care of their sleepless, but very happy parents.
