Thousands Showed Up to Welcome Home Soldiers in Harker Heights
(KCEN) -- Close to five thousand people gathered at Carl Levin Park to welcome home solders from Iraq, Afghanistan and other era's.
Families across Central Texas came to say thank you to their heroes including one rock star who told us that he dropped everything to say thanks.
Military supporter Ted Nugent says, "Every time I go hunting, everytime I handle my guns, every time I play my rock and roll I realize that this opportunity is provided by men and women in uniform who are willing to take on evil and make the ultimate sacrifice. So I'm here to say thank you."
The event was projected to be the single largest gathering of returning veterans in Central Texas.
