(KCEN) -- Walmart says it plans to hire more than 50-thousand seasonal workers.

The world's largest retailer will add employees as it prepares for the holidays.  

The period leading up to Christmas is the busiest time of year for Walmart so they will be needing extra hands.

They're also giving current employees the option of working more hours.
