(KCEN) -- The giant panda cub that was born last week at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. died yesterday morning.
Panda keepers say they heard a distress call from the cub's mother Sunday morning.
Veterinarians arrived and performed CPR but the cub did not respond.
Officials say the cub was in good condition and had no outward signs of trauma or infection.
They're still working to determine why the cub died.
