
TEMPLE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team finished tied for third place Monday
afternoon at the UMHB Lady Cru Fall Invitational in Temple. The Lady
Cru posted a 320
team-total, just two strokes behind second-place Schreiner at 318.
Western Texas Community College tied UMHB at the third-place spot, with
Southwestern University and Trinity University both holding fifth-place
with totals of 330. Texas Lutheran holds down
seventh place with 337, Hardin-Simmons is eighth with 360, Murray State
Community College is ninth with 363 while Jacksonville College and the
Southwestern University Gold team place 10th and 11th with 367 and 369,
respectively. Tyler Junior College leads
all schools with 311.
Sara
Eckert posted the lowest individual round of 76 for the Lady Cru, just
two strokes behind first-place. Eckert, who is currently in a three-way
tie for third-place, shot 12 pars and is tied
for third in both par-3 and par-5 scoring. Taylor O'Rear posted a score
of 77 and is currently tied for sixth-place. O'Rear, who shot two
birdies and 10 pars, leads par-3 scoring at 2-under. Allison Holly's 79
is good enough to tie her for 10th-place. Holly
leads par-5 scoring at 1-under and shot two birdies and 10 pars on the
day.
Elizabeth
Davis shot 81 to tie her for 15th place and is tied for fourth in par-4
scoring after the first 18 holes. Victoria Thane is tied for 23rd with a
score of 83 while Kelly Gonyea's 84 ties
her for 25th.
The tournament is being played on a par-72, 5,820-yard layout at
Wildflower Country Club in Temple. The Cru women will finish up the
tournament with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
