(KCEN) -- The West Nile outbreak has claimed another life in Dallas.
That brings the statewide death toll to 54.
In our area, it's been exactly two weeks since any new West Nile cases have been reported.
To date, 49 total people have come down with the virus in central Texas.
Three of those people died.
Texas accounts for more than half of West Nile deaths nationwide.
And more than 1,000 Texans have been infected with West Nile this year.
That makes it the worst outbreak the state has ever seen.
