
(KCEN) -- Forty five Fort Hood soldiers from the 96th Transportation Company made their way back to American soil today.
This company was stationed overseas for the past year and now they're part of the 23,000 troops who will be home by the end of the month.
Today, children, wives and family waited for their return, and these soldier are more than happy to be home.
Specialist Francisco Murillo was one of those who made it home today.
He said, "Oh wow it feels so good. I have my family here, my beautiful wife, my kids. It's one of the happiest days of my life."
Sixty-eight thousand American troops are still in Afghanistan and are expected home by the end of 2014.
