(KCEN) -- A brutal dog attack killed a north Texas infant.

A three-month-old baby boy was mauled by the family's pit bull in Burleson. It happened around 6:45 last night.

Officers were at a home for a domestic disturbance.

While talking to police, a member of the family went inside to lay the baby boy down for a nap.

But what's when the dog attacked.

The child was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

The animal was quarantined and euthanized by animal control officers.
