Attempt to Cure Hiccups Caused Fort Hood Soldier to Be Shot, Killed

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Apparently the Fort Hood soldier who died during an accident was shot when his friend's attempt to cure his hiccups went terribly wrong.

It happened just after 10 p.m. on Sunday in he 2800 block of Cantabrian Trail.

The men were apparently drinking and watching football when Fort Hood soldier Isaac Young got the hiccups.

Fellow soldier Patrick Myers allegedly held a gun to young's head in an effort to scare the hiccups away.

Myers thought the gun was loaded with dummy rounds.

When it went off a bullet hit young in the face, killing him.

Myers faces manslaughter charges for the shooting and is in the Bell County Jail on a one-million-dollar bond.
