Longhorns sophomore quarterback David Ash has been added to the 2012
watch list for the 76th Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club
announced today. The
award is presented annually to the outstanding collegiate football player in America.
original list was comprised of 65 players, who were selected based on
their performances during the 2011 season. As the 2012 season has

completed 55 passes on 72 attempts (76.4%) for 703 yards and seven
touchdowns with no interceptions and has rushed for 58 net yards on 11
carries with a 49-yard touchdown against New Mexico.
In the season opener against
Wyoming, Ash threw for 156 yards and one touchdown, completing 20 of 27
attempts. The next week against New Mexico, Ash completed 16
of 22 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
In the Longhorns 66-31 win over Ole Miss on September 15,
Ash completed 19 of 23 passes for a career-high 326 yards and a
career-best four TDs with no interceptions.
His career-high passing efficiency rating of 259.06 versus Ole Miss is
the third-best mark by any FBS quarterback this season and the top mark
against a BCS team.
