Each month Fort Hood selects one outstanding soldier who goes beyond the call of duty.
SPC Pablo Piniero does that at work and at home.
He works behind the scenes as an intelligence and security analyst, and the woman behind this hero says he takes the Army values home with him every day.
"I married my wife in 2009. I also married the Army," said Pablo.
He loves his job, but coming home to his wife, Marlene, at the end of the day ranks number one.
Pablo said, "She really supports me and everything, and she's always there, and she takes care of me when I'm not home, and when I'm home, I make sure that I take care of here."
And when it comes to taking care of her, Marlene says the very same values that earned him the title as "soldier of the month" also earn him the title of "the love of her life."
"His discipline, he's committed, he's not a quitter, he puts his family first, but the mission first too. He's very loyal to his flag and his country," she said.
Every day the two take one hour reflect on her day at home and his day on post managing the collection of intelligence and security information for III Corps.
"I'm a proud wife," said Marlene.
And with hopes to soon add one more member to this family unit, Marlene is confident Pablo will be just as wonderful as a dad as he is as a soldier and soul mate.
"He'll be the best friend, and that's exciting to know."
For Pablo, it's one more thing to look forward to and one more thing he says he'll do anything to fight for.
"Love the military, love my country and love my family," said Pablo.
