Football Fans More Than Excited To Have Original Refs Back

Posted: Updated:

Thursday night's football game drew in the attention of fans nation wide with the return of the NFL veteran referees.

After three weeks of controversial calls from replacement refs.

The original officials took the field once again to call the shots.

"You got teams losing that deserve to win clearly with easy footage that shows you got ref making different calls at the same time," said football fan Brandon Garrett.

"Especially the Green Bay and Seattle game that was ridiculous," said football fan Richard Sanchez.

And it all came down to one blown play.

"The last play of the game you get a bad call against the defense that really made a good play and it turned the game around and it sucks," said Garrett.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson threw the controversial game winning touchdown that many people agree was really just an interception.

"I mean everybody saw it world wide," said Sanchez.

"This is embarrassing they're making a joke out of the league they need to get it resolved and get it right and finally they have," said football fan Jimmy Harrison.

Luckily for players, coaches and fans nationwide, that blown call led to a compromise between the NFL and officials.

And the integrity of the game is no longer in question.

"Just like the football players they're professionals so they get paid their money to call the right calls," said Sanchez.

"I'm glad they're back, I think the game will be called better, but at the same time they blew a coin flip a few years ago with the Steelers so the regular refs aren't perfect, but they won't be near as bad as these guys have been," said Harrison.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has apologized for the officials lockout.

Team owners will vote to ratify the new deal this Friday and Saturday in Dallas.
