(KCEN) -- Texas Southern University in Houston has suspended its marching band after members were accused of hazing.
School officials began investigating after they heard reports of excessive paddling.
They canceled the band's scheduled performance during Thursday's football game against Sam Houston State.
The TSU marching band, which goes by the name Ocean of Soul, is a big attraction at the games.
Universities across the country have been on alert for band misconduct since last year's hazing death of a drum major at Florida A&M.
