(KCEN) -- Aside from the rain some North Texans felt the ground shake last night.
A 3.4 magnitude earthquake hit the Dallas area followed less than five minutes later by a 3.1 magnitude aftershock.
The initial quake was centered near the Dallas suburb of Irving.
The US Geological Survey reports that the initial quake lasted several seconds and was strong enough to be felt up to 15 or 20 miles away.
Julie Starkey said who felt the earthquake said, "And it felt like there was a shake and I woke up and it felt like it was almost like a roll through the floor."
"I was watching the Oregon football game and all of a sudden the house just started to shake back and forth for a couple of seconds," said Steve Starkey.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
