(KCEN) -- General Motors has issued a recall for 40 thousand cars and SUV's because of a faulty fuel pump.
The recall affects these models: 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt; 2007 Chevrolet Equinox; 2007-2009 Pontiac G-5; 2007 Pontiac Torrent; and 2007 Saturn Ion.
GM says the fuel pumps in those vehicles could crack and cause a potentially dangerous fuel leak.
The vehicles were sold or registered in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
