(KCEN) -- A new contest could put cash in hog hunters' pockets and some bacon on the table.
To cut down on the Texas hog population, Caldwell and Hayes counties are offering bounties for feral hog kills.
That's because feral hogs are contaminating their water supplies.
It started yesterday and those counties will award hunters $2 per hog tail.
The contest runs until the end of the year.
