(KCEN) -- Protesters are apparently taking some extreme measures to keep the Keystone pipeline out of east Texas.
Twenty-eight-year-old Alejandro Delatorre was arrested for locking his arm to an easement where construction crews are building the pipeline.
He attached his arm to something below a makeshift bridge that TransCanada built to protect a natural gas pipeline.
The property owner signed over part of his land to TransCanada three years ago.
But he says he supports the protests and regrets giving up his land.
Delatorre spend the night in jail, and appeared before a judge yesterday morning.
He's charged with obstruction, resisting arrest and criminal trespass, among others.
