White House Christmas Tree Chosen - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

(KCEN) -- It's not Christmas time yet, but it is time to select this year's White House Christmas tree.

The tree came from Wisconsin last year, but this year, the tree will hail from North Carolina.

This morning, officials will visited Peak Farms to pick the special tree.

But it won't be harvested until late November, just prior to its presentation.

Peak Farms was named the 2012 National Christmas Tree Association Grand Champion.

Previous winners of the title have provided the official White House Christmas tree since 1966.
