(KCEN) -- The CDC released an update on the West Nile outbreak and new numbers on the virus.
As of Tuesday, 163 people have died from the virus nationwide.
That's out of nearly 3,000 cases. A third of those cases were right here in Texas.
In our area, 51 people have contracted West Nile since the start of this year.
Three of those people died.
The statewide death toll now stands at 69.
