(KCEN) -- Nearly 100 dogs have been abandoned in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in just two days.
Fifty-one Maltese puppies were found covered in mud and feces in Flower Mound.
And just a day later, someone dumped 40 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and one Cocker Spaniel in Denton County.
Police say it might be the result of a new Texas law regulating dog breeders.
That law requires dog and cat breeders to undergo an inspection and get proper licensing.
Now two animal cruelty investigations are underway.
Animal control officers say the dogs are relatively healthy and they will likely be up for adoption next week.
