(KCEN) -- Mexican authorities announced the arrest of two alleged regional chiefs of gangs yesterday.
The alleged drug traffickers are said to be members of the Juarez and Knights of Templar cartels.
The high-profile arrests are a boost for authorities in Mexican drug-ravaged states trying to control the country drug gangs.
About 60,000 people have died in drug related violence in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon launched a military-led offensive on trafficking in 2006.
