South By Southwest Boosts Austin Economy - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

(KCEN) -- The economy in Austin received a huge boost thanks to South By Southwest.

The Film, Music and Interactive Festivals bumped the city's economy up 190 million dollars.

That's up 12 percent from 2011.

A study conducted by consulting firm Greyhill Advisors also shows South By Southwest is the single most profitable event for the city of Austin's hospitality industry.

The 2013 South By Southwest festival starts March 8.
