(KCEN) -- Falls County has seen several scams recently attempting to gain personal information for identity theft.
The scammers are targeting Bank of America customers and are using text messages and emails to gather the information by appearing to be legitimate bank representatives.
They are asking for information such as PIN numbers and passwords to access people's bank accounts.
Everyone should remember to never give out personal information like account numbers, passwords or PIN numbers over phone or by text messages or emails. Legitimate banks will not ask for that information from you.
Anyone contacted by these scammers should report it to their bank, their credit card agency and to local law enforcement.
