(KCEN) -- American women are dressed in pink and are protesting in one of the most dangerous regions in the world.
The reason is because of deadly drone strikes in Pakistan.
The anti-war group, called Code Pink, tried to enter Pakistan's tribal region over the weekend.
They're upset over drone attacks that target militants but have also killed more than 400 civilians since 2004.
Protesters never made their way into the turbulent region.
Pakistani authorities used shipping containers and security forces to keep them out.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has defended the drone strikes. He calls them an effective way to kill militants.
