Weapons Bound for Mexican Drug Cartel Seized in San Antonio
(KCEN) -- An arsenal of drugs and weapons on their way to a drug cartel in Mexico are now in the hands of San Antonio police.
The weapons cache was found during a raid early yesterday morning.
Drug agents uncovered more than a dozen assault rifles with thousands of rounds of ammo.
They also found thousands of dollars worth of heroin.
Sergeant. Robert Perez of the San Antonio Police Department said, "We pretty sure they're gonna be destined for Mexico to the cartels down south. The information we got are that the weapons are being collected here to be shipped down to Mexico."
A Mexican drug cartel was reportedly going to pay $2,000 to $3,000 per gun.
Only one person is under arrest, but more are expected in the coming days.
