Courtesy Temple Police Department(KCEN) -- One person died in an accident at the intersection of Loop 363 and 31st Street in Temple last night.
The crash happened at about 10:24 p.m. and police arrived to find two vehicles had collided.
A silver Chevrolet was headed eastbound on the Loop 363 service road and a red Nissan pickup was traveling north on 31st Street.
The Chevrolet stopped for a red light on the service road and for unknown reasons, drove into the intersection. The Nissan was unable to stop in time and hit the passenger side of the car.
The only person in the silver Chevrolet was the driver, 42-year-old Teresa Michelle McRae of Temple. McRae was taken to Scott and White but then passed away from her injuries.
Temple Police Department's Traffic Investigations Unit is doing a follow-up investigation to determine exactly what happened in the accident. The intersection was closed for several hours after the wreck.
