Texas Man Executed for Murder of 12-Year-Old Girl

(KCEN) -- A Texas man convicted of raping and killing a 12-year-old girl has been put to death.

Jonathan Green was convicted of kidnapping the girl in June of 2000 and later strangling her in Montgomery County.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected last-minute appeal to spare his life.

So Green was executed just before 10:45 p.m.

In a final statement, Green said he was an innocent man who never killed anyone.
