Dozens of Vehicles, City Building Damaged by Vandals in Cameron

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The Cameron Police Department is investigating a string of overnight events that left dozens of cars and a city building vandalized.

Suspects used rocks to damage vehicles that were parked outside of homes. The rocks were taken off the ATSF railroad and thrown at cars parked in driveways or on the sides of streets.

A dozen or more vehicles had their windshields knocked out.

The City Water Department building was also damaged by the vandals. The suspects broke the front plate glass window with the same type of rock.

Police believe the same people were responsible for all of the attacks.

Thousands of dollars of damage was done to the vehicles. Some of the vehicles also received body damage where the rocks missed the glass.

There may be some leads, but police have not identified any suspects yet.

Some people reported seeing an older model gray Cadillac in the area and a black pickup truck was also seen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cameron Police Department or the Milam County Crimestoppers at 1-888-697-TIPS.
