
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Baylor women's golf team is headed to Chapel Hill, N.C., to compete in the 37th annual Ruth's
Criss Tar Heel Invitational, which runs Friday through Sunday.
The
three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by the University of North Carolina
on the par-72, 6,379-yard UNC Finley Golf Course. Tee times for Friday and Saturday begin at 8:51 a.m. ET from the
first and 10th tees, while Sunday's final round begins with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start.
Baylor's
lineup includes junior Kaylin Terry, sophomores Emma Carberry and
Hayley Davis, and freshmen Annette Lyche and Lauren Taylor. The top four
scores from each round will count toward
the team's final score.
Baylor, which is ranked No. 42 in the latest
GolfWeek rankings, will be making its first appearance at the Tar
Heel Invitational. The Lady Bears will be competing alongside 17 other
teams including tournament host UNC (No. 23), Florida (No. 3), Duke (No.
5), Michigan State (No. 8), Auburn (No.
10), North Carolina State (No. 13), Virginia (No. 24), Arkansas,
Central Florida, Colorado, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Michigan,
Mississippi, South Carolina and Wake Forest.
Baylor is coming off a sixth-place finish at the 33rd Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Davis, who is ranked No. 92 nationally, finished tied for ninth
individually to earn her second consecutive top-10 finish to open the season. Carberry finished tied for 21st and Taylor tied for 25th place. The Lady Bears opened the season with a second-place finish at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic
in Fort Collins, Colo.
