
DURHAM, N.C. - The Baylor men's golf team travels to Durham, N.C., to compete in the third annual Duke University Rod Myers Invitational
this weekend.
The
two-day event, 54-hole event will be played at the par-72, 7,136-yard
Duke University Golf Club. Teams are slated to play the first and second
rounds on Saturday, with Baylor's first tee
time at 7:44 a.m. CT. The second round will begin immediately after completion of the opening round, and Sunday's third and final round will begin at 7:05 a.m.
Baylor's
lineup includes senior Ryan O'Rear and sophomores Mikkel
Bjerch-Andresen, Kyle Jones, Niclas Mansson and Filippo Zucchetti. The
Bears placed second behind tournament-host Duke in last
season's Rod Myers Invitational. Two members of Baylor's 2012 lineup
played in the tournament, with O'Rear tying for 10th place individually at 2-over-par and Jones tying for 32nd at 11-over.
Baylor, which is No. 73 in the latest
GolfWeek rankings, will be competing alongside 10 other teams:
Northwestern (No. 16), Duke (No. 18), Liberty (No. 26), Tulsa (No. 28),
North Carolina (No. 43), North Carolina State, Iowa, UNC Charlotte, East
Carolina and Pacific.
Baylor
is coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2012 William H. Tucker
Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M. on Sept. 29. Mansson tied for 22nd place individually to earn the best
finish for Baylor, while Zucchetti and Jones tied for 26th place.
