NORMAN, Okla. – Alyssa Dibbern had a team high 12 kills, but Oklahoma
(15-6, 4-2) picked up the 3-0 sweep over Baylor (14-7, 1-5) Friday evening at McCasland Fieldhouse in Norman, Okla.
"We didn't follow the game plan tonight,"
head coach Jim Barnes said. "I am disappointed, but this is a young
group that has to learn. We have a couple home games this next week to
bounce back with and we need to."
Zoe Adom (11) was the only other BU
player with double-figure kills on the night. Kate Harris led the way
with 11 digs, and Torri Campbell added three blocks.
The Sooners hit .349 on the night, while Baylor hit .179 with 22 errors.
Oklahoma
jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but a 5-0 run was answered by BU, giving it a
7-6 advantage. That would be the last lead of the set for the Bears, as
Morgan Reynolds had six of her 18 kills en route to a 25-20 win.
Dibber
registered two of the first three Baylor points in the second set, but
an early lead was eventually taken over by OU for good at 10-9. Ten
attacking errors came back to haunt the Green and Gold, who hit .118 in
the set.
With the Bears clinging to a 10-9 lead in the third set, OU
went on a 7-1 run to take a 16-11 lead and ultimately a 25-17 third set
win to claim the match.
Baylor will be home for the next two matches, beginning with TCU on Wed., Oct. 17 at 7 pm.
