With only a few more hours of turkey legs and fair rides, Central Texas families rushed to take advantage of one last day at the fair.
"We usually wait until the last day and then we just come and spend the day," said Central Texas mom Tammie Schultz.
The Schultz family has been planning this day for weeks now, and for them the trip is about one thing.
"The rides," said Tammie Schultz.
"It's just fun it's a new experience," said Jimmy Schultz.
And even though many waited until the last day, the fun wasn't running out.
"This is my first time here with my daughter-in-law and we're just having a great time we really are first time, but it wont be my last cause we're having a blast," said fairgoer Clara Jackson.
This year's fair brought in new excitement like the Cap Stone Kids Zone, mutton bustin, and a huge line up of diverse musicians.
HOT Fair and Rodeo President Wes Allison, said this years fair turnout is more than they could ask for.
"It's been good we've had good attendance and we really appreciate everybody coming out so it's been wonderful time and we're looking forward to a great final Saturday," said Allison.
Along with all the new attractions at the fair, many people say they're definitely going to take advantage of some great food while they can.
"Turkey legs absolutely," said fairgoer Christine Reed.
"My daughter-in-law was telling me that we've got to try the chicken on the stick so that's what we're going to do," said Jackson.
"We like to try to try the stuff that we can't get every day in the restaurants," said Tammie Schultz.
Along with all the fun festivities that this year's fair bough out, they'll wrap up the evening with the All American Rodeo and a concert series featuring country music star Rodney Adkins.
