(KCEN) Election day, November 6th, is less than three weeks away.
This year, you'll see three names on the ballot for McLennan County Sheriff.
Republican candidate Parnell McNamara, Democratic candidate Willie Tompkins, Sr. and Libertarian candidate Charles Hutyra.
McNamara said, he plans to step-up the war on drugs because 90% to 95% of all crimes are drug related.
Hutyra said, he's concerned about the cost of running the Sheriffs Department and why it has run over budget.
While Tompkins said, he wants to take a common sense approach to problems like the budget and courthouse security.
Early voting begins Monday, October 22nd.
