(KCEN) -- He was born during the roaring twenties and he's still revved up and ready to hit the road.
Henry Beckham has been behind the wheel since 1937.
Now at 89, he's had a Texas drivers license longer than anyone else in the state.
These days he drives a Hyundai.
But the Waxhachie native says the first time he set foot in a car was in his dad's Ford Model T.
The World War II Army vet always focused on the road, but was driven by hard work.
Beckham said, "My mom said, if you don't stay in school , you're going to pick cotton for the rest of your life."
To put this in perspective, if you got your drivers license today, you would match Beckham's record in 2087.
