Obama and Romney Attend Charity Event in New York

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- It was a light-hearted event last night for President Obama and Mitt Romney.

The two poked fun of each other and the debates at a charity dinner in New York.

President Obama said he felt rested after the nice, long nap he had during the first debate.

And Romney poked fun of Big Bird.

But there were no jokes about the latest polls. NBC shows Obama with a lead in Iowa and Wisconsin.

If he wins both, plus Ohio, he can lose every other swing state and still win the election.

The candidates' running mates aren't resting. They're doing work on the campaign trail.

Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan said, "President Obama said 'He can't change Washington from the inside.' Isn't that why we elect Presidents?"

This weekend the candidates go back into study mode for Monday's final debate.
