(KCEN) The iconic "Big Tex" statue that greets people at the Texas State Fair went up in flames Friday.

Fair goers need not to worry however.

Dickies, the clothing company that creates Big Tex's wardrobe, said he will return better than ever.

That sentiment was echoed by Dallas Mayor, Mike Rawlings, who tweeted "Dallas is about big things and Big Tex was symbolic of that."

He also said, the statue would be back bigger and better.

No word on what sparked the fire.
