(KCEN) -- Oral arguments started yesterday in a hearing involving hundreds of Texas school districts.

They want better funding.

This is reaction to a 5.4 billion dollar funding cut for schools coming out of the last legislative session.

Attorneys for the schools call the funding system fundamentally broken and unconstitutional.

They say it takes tax revenue from richer school districts to help keep the poorer ones afloat.
