(KCEN) -- Beach goers in Corpus Christi saw quite a scene this past weekend.
A 13-foot tiger shark washed ashore and three men worked to try and save its life.
A local fisherman working for the Harte Institute reeled in the massive shark a few hours earlier.
He tagged it with a GPS device and released the shark back into the gulf.
But only an hour later, he got a call, saying his shark had washed ashore a few miles away.
After battling the waves for nearly an hour, the shark's strength seeped away and it unfortunately died.
