Washington D.C. tops the list in the top 25 metropolitan cities in a study conducted by the Center for Housing Policy and the Center for Neighborhood Technology.

The study reports the Washington region places the lowest housing and transportation burden on its residents when factored against the median income, which is calculated at $89,000.

But without the income, housing costs there are the highest in the country.
